Shells are used by sea animals that dont have backbone to protecte themselves from predators. The shells are empty because the animals has died and been eaten by another animal. A lot of shells are washed up on beaches all around the world. Depending on the location, shells have different shapes and forms. (1)
They are sensetive when the climates raises and the carbon emission are released into the water. In the water, the carbon dioxide are converted into carbonic and makes the water more acidic. Because of the lower pH value, shells are slowly dissolving.(2)
